Located between Qualicum Beach and Port Alberni the lake can be reached via Highway 4 and Horne Lake Road from Port Alberni, and via Highway 19 to Horne Lake Road from Qualicum Beach. Rhododendron Lake + My Favorites
Rhododendron Lake is located in the Nanoose Bay area. Named after the ecological reserve of wild rhododendrons nearby, the lake is stocked with rainbow, steelhead and cutthroat trout. Peak fishing times are May to June, and September to October. Address: 19 km southwest of the Island Highway (19) | Nanoose Bay, BC
Boomerang Lake + My Favorites
Rough roads lead to this worthwhile fishing spot near Nanoose Bay. Stocked with trout of the Rainbow, Cutthroat and Steelhead varieties, fishing is best from April to June and September to October. Located 21 km (13 mi) south of the Island Highway 19, the lake is accessed via Branch 142 from the Northwest Bay logging mainline.
Cameron Lake + My Favorites
This popular lake features several recreational activities, including boating, swimming and fishing. The lake is stocked with rainbow and cutthroat trout, with the best fishing months being April, May, June, September and October. Both private and provincial campgrounds are located near the lake.
