This popular family destination is well known for its warm swimming waters at high tide, and sand activities during low tide. Bird-watching opportunities abound, especially in March and April when the view of migrating Brandt Geese is exceptional.
This five kms of coastline situated along Parksville Bay becomes one large beach during low tide. The Parksville Community Park marks the middle of the area, which is home to a playground and water park. The beach is the site for many events, including the Canadian Open Sand Sculpting Competition and Kidfest.
