Every summer, Parksville hosts the Canadian Open Sand Sculpture Competition, attracting artists from the region, the nation and other destinations. Solo or team contestants are given 14 hours to craft their masterpiece made of sand. The event is held during the month-long Parksville Beach Fest. Participants must register prior to the festival.
The 2007 exhibit will be up until Sept. 3, 2007.

This annual rodeo festival features bull riding, barrel racing, mutton bustin' and dancing. The whole thing finishes off with top 10 final and a barbecue.
